Zoootpia 3 Chapter 6

Back at the ZPD, Clawhauser showed Captain Fern Hogbottom his Gazelle app: He took a picture of the sow, and one of the tigers had Hogbottom's head.

"Wow." Said Gazelle on the app with an automated tone. "You are one hot dancer Fern Hogbottom."

"Isn't it cool?" The cheetah asked.

"Not really." Said Hogbottom. "I prefer Fur Fighters." Suddenly, the screen changed to an alarm. Clawhauser ran towards Chief Bogo's office, unaware he was balancing the checkbook.

"Chief Bogo!" Clawhauser shouted, causing Chief Bogo to scribble on the book.

"Clawhauser, look what you made me do!" Said the cape buffalo. "Get out of here if you want to keep your job."

"But it's Nick and Judy!" Said Clawhauser! "They're in danger!"

"How do you know that?"

"One of them must've pressed the emergency beacon! Didn't you check your phone?"

"Of course, not. It's charging on the shelf."

"Will you just look at my phone?!" Clawhauser ran towards Bogo to show him the alarm on his phone.

"By God, you're right!" Bogo exclaimed. "Hopps and Wilde are in trouble! For all we know, they're probably being eaten alive! Clawhauser, tell everyone to head to the bullpen!"

"You got it, Chief!" Said Clawhauser.

In the bullpen, Chief Bogo brought in 20 of his best workers, including Terrence Jawful.

"Ladies and gentle-mammals!" Chief Bogo began. "I am here to tell you awful news: Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are in trouble at Canary Island! We need to get there fast, and I hoof-picked the best officers to join me- Higgins, Fangmire, Hogbottom, Truffler, the Zebros, and Jawful. You are all coming with me. Officer McHorn, you'll take my place while I'm gone."

"I will make you proud, Bogo!" Said the rhinoceros. The police animals immediately went off to Canary Island to rescue Nick and Judy.

Back at Bird Village, Judy and Nick have their arms tied behind their backs as they slowly walk towards a massive pot that was once used by an elephant. Renato is a slave forced to catch fish too far for the puffins and albatrosses to reach, and Cory, who had his legs tied so he wouldn't escape, is sentenced to die by being crushed by rocks from golden eagles. Floyd believes that Nolan has gotten too far, so he thinks of a plan to free Nick and Judy so they can escape and maybe free some slave animals.

'Hey, Nolan!" Said the raven, and the golden eagles dropped their rocks. "There's a chipmunk trying to steal from the bird feeder!" Nolan flies up to the bird feeder to find the 'chipmunk', and while he's distracted, Floyd flew over to Nick and Judy to untie their arms.

"Why are you trying to free us?" Asked Judy. "I thought birds were blood-thirsty savages." Floyd was disgusted by that statement.

"Does that look like a blood-thirsty savage to you?" Floyd asked as he pointed to a swallow. "Just like how predatory mammals are actually very nice once you get to know them."

"He's got a point there, Carrots." Said Nick.

"Hmm." Said Judy. "Maybe birds aren't so bad after all." Nolan flew to Nick and Judy to plop them in the pot.

"Bye-bye, bunny." Said Nolan, and right before he could bite off Judy's head, he got hit with a tranquilizer dart. It was Chief Bogo.

"Animals don't go savage where we come from." Said the buffalo.

"What's that?" Asked a scarlet macaw.

"Maybe it's another reindeer." Said a kiwi.

"He's a cape buffalo." Said Higgins. "And DO NOT get on his bad side."

"Chief Bogo!" Said Judy. "Don't hurt the other birds! See this raven?" She pointed to Floyd. "He untied Nick and I so we could escape."

"It's true." Said Floyd. "Between you and me, Nolan is a bit nuts. If you can remove his ability to fly, please do it!" Fangmire walked over to Nolan's unconscious body and brought him to the boat to clip his wings.

"Are we gonna place all the birds under arrest, Chief Bogo?" Asked Truffler. "I don't think there will be enough room in prison for all of them, especially since the 200 dangerous criminals Wilde let loose got rearrested?"

"I was trying to leave the building!" Shouted Nick. "How many times do I have to tell you?!" A dark-eyed junco flew onto Jawful's nose.

"I don't think we should, Bogo." Said the crocodile. "Back in Crocodile Country, we would have smaller birds clean our teeth. Also, before modern medicine was invented, some birds would help the likes of buffalo, elephants, hippos, and rhinos by eating parasitic bugs."

"That sound cool!" Said a swallow.

"And what about the slave animals?" Asked Nibbles. "They need homes, too."

"Alright, alright." Said Bogo. "Perhaps birds aren't as bloodthirsty as I thought." A bird of paradise landed on his left horn. "You're lucky that Zootopia has enough room for 130 million individual animals." Everyone cheered as almost everyone started packing onto the boats. However, the canaries, cassowaries, echidnas, and kiwis just stood there.

"Aren't you gonna join us?" Asked Judy as she untied Cory.

"No, we like it on Canary Island." Said a kiwi.

"Besides," Said a canary. "If we left Canary Island, what would it called?"

"And I was getting sick of eating mice and lizards, to be honest."

"Suit yourself." Said Nibbles as she, Nick, Judy, Cory, the ZPD staff, and the slave mammals went on the boat. The slave reptiles, boobies, and quails would return to Zootopia using Renato's boat. The remaining birds decided to follow the boats by flying.

Author's Notes: In Zootopia 1, Clawhauser and Chief Bogo played around with an app where you can take your head and plaster it on the head of one of her tiger dancers.

Along with Gazelle, Judy's offer favorite musicians include Hyena Gomez, Fur Fighters, Fleetwood Yak, and Mick Jaguar.

With the key exception of Terrence Jawful, all the cops in this story also appeared in the Zootopia movies.

Floyd's distraction is based on how in real life, squirrels and chipmunks may ransack bird feeders.

In Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, you can get extra lives by correctly answering trivia questions about the game. One of the questions is where DKC 2 takes place, which one of the options being Crocodile Country.

The correct answer is Crocodile Isle, by the way.

It's not stated in the story, but the animal slaves on Canary Island include Guinea pigs, squirrels, kinkajous, caribou, Egyptian tortoises, chipmunks, iguanas, mice, and emerald tree boas.
