Joe's Adventure in Chuso Chapter 5A

Meanwhile, inside Mt. Snowy, Ghetsis and Clyde were looking for Kyurem.

“Don’t you need at least a Steel-Type Pokemon to fight Kyurem with?” Asked Clyde.

“When I was still a Gym Leader,” Ghetsis explained. “I loved to drive Trainers bonkers with my Trump card: Empoleon! I caught him when he was still a Prinplup back at Sinnoh’s Lake Acuity. He was stubborn, but I was able to befriend him by throwing a Basculin at him. While old man Pryce would use Jynx, Dewgong, and Piloswine, I use Dewgong, Cryogonal, and Empoleon! With resistances to 10 different Types and an immunity to Poison, Empoleon’s a powerful Pokemon.” The two then approached yellow tape in front of a cave that said ‘DO NOT CROSS’. Ghetsis simply pushed the tape aside and entered the cave, where they encountered Kyurem.

“Roar!” Replied the Boundary Pokemon, while Clyde was a bit nervous.

“Don’t be such a Wimpod!” Said Ghetsis. “It’s no different than Salamence. Go, Empoleon!” Empoleon was sent out. Kyurem attacked using Ice Beam, but the Emperor Pokemon took little damage.

“Empoleon!” Said Ghetsis. “Use Flash Cannon!” Empoleon gathered all of his light energy and released it at once, dealing great damage to Kyurem. The Dragon Pokemon countered that with Freeze-Dry, but luckily, Empoleon dodged the attack.

“Now to throw the Dusk Ball!” Ghetsis threw the Ball at Kyurem, and after a few seconds of wobbling, the Poke Ball clicked. Kyurem has successfully been caught.

“Next stop, Stow-on-Side!” Declared Ghetsis. “That’s where they keep the DNA Splicers.” Ghetsis swapped Empoleon for Fearow and flew out of the cave with Clyde on board.

The next morning after breakfast, Joe set off on Talonflame to Orange City. He then returned Talonflame to her Poke Ball to swap her with Perrserker, Gogoat, and Charmeleon, and he entered the City’s Gym. Inside was Rebecca, who specializes in Rock-Type Pokemon.

“Hi, there!” She greeted. “My name’s Rebecca, and not only am I a Rock-Type Gym Leader, but I’m also a curator at Orange City’s museum, and as you can see, I love jewelry.” She gestured to her earrings and necklace. “My Pokemon, I believe, reflect my personality. Go, Gigalith!” Gigalith was sent out.

“I choose you!” Said Joe. “Gogoat!” Gogoat was sent out.

“Gogoat!” Said Joe. “Use Seed Bomb!” Gogoat slammed a barrage of hard-shelled seeds on Gigalith, leaving the Compressed Pokémon with half her HP.

“Gigalith!” Said Rebecca. “Use Stone Edge!” Gigalith tried to stab Gogoat with sharpened stones, but the attack missed and punctured a wall in the Gym, instead.

“Sorry about that.” Said Joe.

“That’s okay.” Replied Rebecca. “I can always get a visit from Conkeldurr Construction Co. after the battle. This isn’t the first time it happened.”

“I guess it’s my turn now!” Said Joe. “Gogoat, use Leaf Blade!” Gogoat slashed at Gigalith with a sharp leaf, and the Compressed Pokemon fainted.

“That was great!” Said Rebecca, returning Gigalith to her Poke Ball. “Go, Carbink!” Carbink was sent out.

“You did a great job, Gogoat!” Said Joe, returning the Mount Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Perrserker!” Perrserker was sent out.

“Perrserker!” Said Joe. “Use Iron Head!” Perrserker slammed into Carbink with his steel-hard head, and the Jewel Pokemon fainted.

“Dang!” Said Rebecca, returning Carbink to its Poke Ball. “I should’ve seen that coming. Luckily, my next Pokemon has an item that prevents it from fainting from a single attack. Go, Drednaw!” Drednaw was sent out, and she had a Focus Sash tied to the crest on her forehead.

“That was amazing, Perrserker!” Said Joe, returning the Viking Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Gogoat!” Gogoat was sent out.

“Drednaw!” Said Rebecca. “Use Ice Fang!” Drednaw bit at Gogoat with icy jaws, leaving the Mount Pokemon with 65% of his HP.

“Gogoat!” Said Joe. “Use Horn Leech!” Gogoat drained Drednaw’s energy with his horns, which not only left the Bite Pokemon with just one Hit Point left, but also restored HP to the Mount Pokemon.

“Drednaw!” Said Rebecca. “Use Counter!” Drednaw attacked Gogoat with all her might, leaving the Mount Pokemon with half his HP.

“Finish her off with Razor Leaf!” Gogoat shot sharp leaves at Drednaw, and the Bite Pokemon fainted.

“It seems the rumors of you beating Rainbow Rocket have been proven true.” Said Rebecca, returning Drednaw to her Poke Ball. “Here, take this Mineral Badge.” She handed Joe a brown badge with red and blue sparkles on it.

“Pokemon up to Level 40 will obey you, even those you receive from trades.” She explained. “You also receive this.” She gave Joe TM39, which contained Rock Tomb.

“TM39 contains Rock Tomb.” Rebecca explained. “As well as dealing damage, this attack also lowers the opponent’s Speed. Now go and beat the other Gym Leaders!” Joe returned Gogoat to his Poke Ball and exited the Gym.

Joe's Adventure in Chuso Chapter 4

Joe walked out of the Guava City Gym, and he was greeted by a Shadow Triad.

“Aren’t you Joseph, the one who defeated Rainbow Rocket last year?” He asked.

“Yes, that would be me.” He replied.

“Well, we plan on liberating humans from Pokemon by turning them into animals!” Said the Shadow Triad.

“Animals?” Asked Joe.

“They’d be like Pokemon,” Explained the Shadow Triad. “But smaller with no powers.”

“But that would be boring!” Exclaimed Joe.

“But it will be safer.” Said the Shadow Triad. “I must defeat you before you stop us.”

“Can I at least heal my Pokemon first?” Asked Joe.

“Alright.” Said the Shadow Triad. “But make it snappy.” Joe rushed into the Pokemon Center to heal his Pokemon, and then got out again to fight the Shadow Triad.

“I’m ready!” He said. “Send out your Pokemon. I’ll be ready.”

“Your funeral, dude.” Said the Shadow Triad. “Go, Liepard!” Liepard was sent out.

“I choose you!” Said Joe, pulling out his laptop to retrieve his desired Pokemon. “Machamp!” Machamp was sent out.

“Liepard!” Said the ST. “Use Aerial Ace!” Liepard got out his strong claws and scratched Machamp with them, leaving the Superpower Pokemon with a third of her HP.

“Machamp!” Said Joe. “Use Cross Chop!” Machamp delivered four vicious chops at Liepard, and the Cruel Pokemon fainted.

“You just got lucky.” Said the ST, returning Liepard to his Poke Ball. “Liepard just has poor Defense stats. Go, Houndoom!” Houndoom was sent out.

“Great as usual, Machamp!” Said Joe, returning the Superpower Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Poliwrath!” Poliwrath was sent out.

“Houndoom!” Said the ST. “Use Thunder Fang!” Houndoom bit Poliwrath with electric fangs, leaving the Tadpole Pokemon with half his HP.

“Poliwrath!” Said Joe. “Use Brick Break!” Polwrath used his rough fists to punch Houndoom with, leaving the Dark Pokemon with half her HP.

“Houndoom!” Said the ST. “Use Thunder Fang again!” Houndoom tried to bite Poliwrath again, but luckily, the Tadpole Pokemon dodged the attack.

“Poliwrath!” Said Joe. “Use Surf!” Poliwrath summoned a tidal wave that managed to knock out Houndoom.

“How on Earth did your Pokemon get so strong?” Asked the ST, returning Houndoom to her Poke Ball.

“Simple.” Said Joe. “I trained so that all my Pokemon were at least Level 40, even if some of them aren’t that good at battling.”

“Interesting.” Said the ST. “Go, Cacturne!” Cacturne was sent out, and he had a Focus Sash tied on his ‘hat’.

“You deserve a rest, Poliwrath!” Said Joe, returning the Tadpole Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Kricketune!” Kricketune was sent out.

“Kricketune!” Said Joe. “Use X-Scissor!” Kricketune slashed at Cacturne by crossing his scythes as if they were a pair of scissors, but the Scarecrow Pokemon was left with one Hit Point left.

“Cacturne!” Said the ST. “Use Spikes!” Cacturne scattered spikes around Kricketune’s feet, and any Pokemon that Joe switches in will get hurt a little.

“Kricketune!” Said Joe. “Use Bug Buzz!” Kricketune buzzed like a Beedrill to inflict damage, and the Scarecrow Pokemon fainted.

“You’re tougher than I thought.” Said the ST, returning Cacturne to his Poke Ball. “Go, Sharpedo!” Sharpedo was sent out.

“That was great, Kricketune!” Said Joe, returning the Cricket Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Dedenne!” Dedenne was sent out, but he got hurt by Spikes.

“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Thunderbolt!” Dedenne hit Sharpedo with a strong bolt of lightning, and the Brutal Pokemon fainted.

“Sharpedo just has poor Special Defense stats.” Said the ST, returning Sharpedo to his Poke Ball. “Go, Absol!” Absol was sent out.

“That was excellent, Dedenne!” Said Joe, returning the Antenna Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Pangoro!” Pangoro was sent out, but he got hurt by Spikes.

“Absol!” Said the ST. “Use Air Slash!” Absol attacked with a blade that could slice even the sky, leaving the Daunting Pokemon with half his HP.

“Pangoro!” Said Joe. “Use Drain Punch!” Pangoro delivered a punch that not only dealt lots of damage to Absol, but also restored his HP.

“Absol!” Said the ST. “Use Play Rough!” Absol tried to play rough with Pangoro, but luckily, attack missed.

“Pangoro!” Said Joe. “Use Sky Uppercut!” Pangoro attacked Absol with an uppercut thrown skyward with force, and the Disaster Pokemon fainted.

“I still have one more chance!” Said Absol, returning the Disaster Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Scrafty!” Scrafty was sent out.

“You deserve a rest, Pangoro!” Said Joe, returning the Daunting Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Mimikyu!” Mimikyu was sent out, but she got hurt by Spikes.

“Mimikyu!” Said Joe. “Use Play Rough!” Mimikyu played rough with Scrafty, leaving the Hoodlum Pokemon with 65% of his HP.

“Scrafty!” Said the ST. “Use Payback!” Scrafty attacked Mimikyu with all his might, but because of her special Ability, the Disguise Pokemon didn’t take any damage. Her disguise got busted, however.

“Mimikyu!” Said Joe. “Use Play Rough again!” Mimikyu played rough with Scrafty, leaving the Hoodlum Pokemon with a quarter of his HP.

“Scrafty!” Said the ST. “Use Iron Tail!” Scrafty hit Mimikyu with his tail, leaving the Disguise Pokemon with about 80% of her HP.

“Mimikyu!” Said Joe. “Finish him off with Wood Hammer!” Mimikyu slammed her body into Scrafty, which not only knocked him out, but also damaged the Disguise Pokemon with recoil.

“This isn’t good.” Said the ST, returning Scrafty to his Poke Ball. “I gotta tell Ghetsis, wherever he is.” The ST then ran off to the nearest Pokemon Center.

“We all did a great job, everyone!” Said Joe, returning Mimikyu to her Poke Ball. He then pulled out the paper Jennifer gave him. “The next Gym is in Orange City, and the Gym Leader is Rebecca, who uses Rock-Type Pokemon. However, it’s getting late, and I need to get some sleep.” Joe went to the nearest hotel to get some dinner and sleep for the night.

Author's Notes: When a Pokemon holds a Focus Sash, if it were to be hit with an attack that would knock it out, it would be left with one Hit Point, instead.
The Shadow Triad were a trio of Trainers in Black and Whites 1 and 2 who were followers of Ghetsis. In the games, they all had similar Pokemon, so to spice things up, I decided to have each of them specialize in different Types. You'll find out which as the story progresses.

Joe's Adventure in Chuso Chapter 3B

While Joe was flying on Talonflame to Guava City, Ghetsis and Clyde flew on Fearow to the top of New Mt. Coronet.

“Zekrom is right there, sleeping like a Komala. Said Ghetsis, pointing at the Dragon Pokemon sleeping while standing up. “Bonnie, take out Flygon! It’s time to evolve it.”

“Okay, boss.” Said Bonnie, sending Vibrava out of his Poke Ball. Ghetsis got out some Rare Candy, and Vibrava gobbled them up. Soon, he started evolving: Vibrava nearly doubled in size, his wings became more developed, its arms and legs became closer to Charizard, his skin changed from yellow to green, and he developed red coverings over his green eyes. Vibrava has evolved into Flygon, who gave out a battle cry that woke up Zekrom. The Pitch Black responded by hitting Flygon with Thunderbolt, but the Mystic Pokemon was unfazed.

“Flygon!” Said Bonnie. “Use Earth Power!” Flygon made the ground, er, mountain, erupt from underneath Zekrom, creating a hole on top of the mountain, making the Pitch Black Pokemon faint.

“Excellent!” Said Ghetsis, sending out Fearow to fly down to the cave, and Bonnie and Flygon followed in pursuit. He threw an Ultra Ball at Zekrom, and after a few seconds of wobbling, clicked. Zekrom has successfully been caught.

“Next stop, Mt. Snowy!” Exclaimed Ghetsis, and the two of them made their way to Mt. Snowy.

—---------------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, Joe arrived in Guava City and returned Talonflame to her Poke Ball, since the path to New Mt. Coronet was blocked. He opened up his laptop and swapped his team for Lapras, Manectric, and Charmander. He could’ve taken out another Electric or Rock-Type Pokemon, but he chose Charmander so it could gain EXP and evolve into Charmeleon sooner. Joe then put away his laptop and entered the Guava City Gym, and he was greeted by a man in his mid-30s.

“Why, if it isn’t Joseph.” He said. “The name’s Robert, but you can call me Bobby. As well as a skilled Flying-Type Trainer, I’m also an accomplished pilot. Enough chatter, let’s battle! Terrafowl, I choose you!” Terrafowl was sent out.

“Terrafowl?” Asked Joe. “Even when it’s as dumb as a Slowpoke?”

“Yes, it may be an idiot.” Said Bobby. “But Terrafowl still has some decent stats.”

“Okay, but I know I have the better advantage of you! I choose you, Lapras!” Lapras was sent out.

“Lapras!” Said Joe. “Use Ice Beam!” Lapras fired an icy beam at Terrafowl, and the Turkey Pokemon fainted.

“That was just luck.” Said Robert, returning Terrafowl to his Poke Ball. “Ground/Flying is a poor Type combination. Go, Soareon!” Soareon was sent out.

“That was great, Lapras!” Said Joe, returning the Transport Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Manectric!” Manectric was sent out.

“Soareon!” Said Bobby. “Use Double-Edge!” Soareon tackled Manectric so hard that it also damaged the Sky Pokemon.

“Manectric!” Said Joe. “Use Thunderbolt!” Manectric hit Soareon with a strong bolt of lightning, and the Sky Pokemon fainted.

“Luckily, my last Pokemon is also my strongest!” Said Bobby, returning Soareon his Poke Ball. “Go, Braviary!” Braviary was sent out.

“Manectric!” Said Joe. “Use Thunderbolt!” Manectric hit Braviary with a strong bolt of lightning, cutting the Valiant Pokemon’s HP in half.

“Braviary!” Said Bobby. “Use Superpower!” Braviary hit Manectric with great power that not only knocked out Manectric, but also lowered the Valiant Pokemon’s Attack and Defense stats.

“That was tough, Manectric!”” Said Joe, returning the Discharge Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Lapras!” Lapras was sent back out.

“Braviary!” Said Bobby. “Use Superpower again!” Braviary tried attacking Lapras, but luckily, the attack missed.

“Lapras!” Said Joe. “Use Ice Beam!” Lapras fired an icy beam at Braviary, and the Valiant Pokemon fainted. Suddenly, one of Joe’s Poke Ball’s started wobbling. He opened it, and it was Charmander, who was about to evolve. He increased in size, changed from orange to red, and sprouted a horn. Charmander has evolved into Charmeleon.

“That was an excellent battle!” Said Bobby, returning Braviary to his Poke Ball. “Here, take the Wing Badge.” He handed Joe a gray wing-shaped badge.

Pokemon up to Level 20 will obey you, even those you receive from trades.” He explained. “You will also receive this as a reward.” Bobby then handed Joe TM62, which contained Acrobatics.

“TM62 contains Acrobatics.” He explained. “This attack does massive damage if the defending Pokemon isn’t holding an Item.”

“Thank you!”  Said Joe, returning Charmeleon and Lapras to their Poke Balls. “I’ll be on my way now!” Joe then exited the Gym.

Joe's Adventure in Chuso Chapter 3A

While Joe was flying on Talonflame to Guava City, Ghetsis and Clyde flew on Fearow to the top of New Mt. Coronet.

“Reshiram is right there, sleeping like a Komala.” Said Ghetsis, pointing at the Dragon Pokemon sleeping while standing up. “Clyde, use Carbink to wake up this magnificent beast.” Clyde sent out Carbink and ordered it to use Smack Down.

“Carbink,” Said Clyde. “Use Smack Down!” Carbink threw a stone at Reshiram, waking it up. However, the Vast White Pokemon got very angry and attacked Carbink with Dragon Claw, only for the Jewel Pokemon to be left unscathed.

“Carbink!” Said Clyde. “Use Rock Slide!” Carbink hurled large boulders at Reshiram, leaving the Vast White Pokemon with half its HP. Reshiram countered that with Flamethrower, but the Jewel Pokemon endured the hit.

“Carbink!” Said Clyde. “Use Power Gem!” Carbink attacked Reshiram with a ray of light that sparkled as if it were made of gemstones, and the Vast White Pokemon fainted.

“Perfect!” Said Ghetsis. “Now to throw an Ultra Ball!” Ghetsis threw an Ultra Ball at Reshiram, and after a few seconds of wobbling, clicked. Reshiram has successfully been caught.

“Next stop, Mt. Snowy!” Exclaimed Ghetsis, and the two of them made their way to Mt. Snowy.

Joe's Adventure in Chuso Chapter 2B

When Joe arrived at Apricot City, he swapped his party for Lucario and Breloom.

“This must be the place.” Said Joe, standing in front of the Gym. He entered it and was greeted by a friendly voice.

“Hello there!” Said a young woman. “My name’s Kathy, and I run both the Apricot Gym and the Trainer School in Pomo Town! Didn’t you beat Rainbow Rocket last year?”

“That would be me.” Said Joe.

“It’s been a pleasure to meet you!” She said, giving Joe a handshake. “I normally use Bidoof and Bibarel, but for this battle, I’ll use Persian and Bibarel, since we’ve been told that you’re pretty tough. Go, Persian!” Persian was sent out.

“I choose you!” Said Joe. Lucario!” Lucario was sent out.

“Persian!” Said Kathy. “Use Fake Out!” Persian slapped Lucario with her paws, and even though it did little damage, it made the Aura Pokemon flinch.

“Now use Play Rough!” Commanded Kathy. Persian played rough with Lucario, but it only dealt about 30 Hit Points.

“Lucario!” Said Joe. “Use Aura Sphere!” Lucario fired a ball of focused energy at Persian, and the Classy Cat Pokemon fainted.

“That was hot!” Said Kathy, returning Persian to her Poke Ball. “Go, Bibarel!” Bibarel was sent out.

“Lucario!” Said Joe. “Use Force Palm!” Lucario hit Bibarel with a shock wave from his paw, and the Beaver Pokémon fainted.

“How did your Lucario get so strong?” Asked Kathy, returning Bibarel to her Poke Ball.

“I trained him to fight Hoenn’s Elite Four.” Replied Joe, returning Lucario to his Poke Ball.

“Then you deserve the Normal Badge.” Said Kathy, handing Joe a round white Badge. “Pokemon up to Level 20 will obey you, even those you receive from trades.”

“That’s cool,” Said Joe. “Even though I already have all 8 Hoenn Badges.”

“That’s okay!” Said Kathy. “Perhaps you could start a collection. You will also receive this as a reward.” She then handed Joe TM90, which contained Substitute.

“TM90 contains Substitute.” Kathy explained. “With this move, the user creates a decoy using a quarter of its HP, but the decoy disappears after taking a few hits.”

“I know.” Said Joe. “I know all about Pokemon and their attacks. I love to read books, you know.”

“That’s great to hear.” Said Kathy. “I wish there were more Trainers like you in my class. Be on your way, now!” Joe left the Gym to heal his Pokemon and to venture into New Mt. Coronet.

—------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, in Unova’s Giant Chasm, Ghetsis has managed to recruit up to 30 new Grunts, as well as the original Shadow Triad. However, many of them were surprised that their boss was now in his mid-20s.

“I know what you’re all thinking.” Ghetsis began. “‘How on Earth did I get younger’? To put it simply, I came into contact with one of Xerneas’s crystals. And we are going to liberate humans and Pokemon, and our plan will succeed this time!”

“But don’t we use Pokemon?” Asked a Grunt.

“Yes.” Said Ghetsis. “But with the help of Zekrom and Kyurem, we’ll turn Pokemon into smaller and less powerful creatures: Animals!”

“But what will we use to fight other human beings with?” Asked another Grunt.

“There won’t be any fighting!” Answered Ghetsis. “There will be no more Pokemon Battles, since the Pokemon will now be powerless! It would be like pitting two Magikarp against each other.”

“But where will we find Zekrom and Kyurem?” Asked another Grunt.

"Zekrom can be found in New Mt. Coronet,” Replied Ghetsis. “And Kyurem can be found in Mt. Snowy. Ladies and gentlemen, we are heading to Chuso!” Yet another Grunt raised his hand.

“But what if that Joe Trainer tries to stop us?” He asked.

“We’ll block the entrance to New Mt. Coronet until Zekrom is captured!” Answered Ghetsis. “The real question is, do any of you have either Flygon?”

“I have a Vibrava that I caught in Reversal Mountain.” Said a female Grunt named Bonnie. “He’s Level 40, and that means it’s only five Levels away from evolving!”

“Great!” Said Ghetsis. “Luckily, I have enough Rare Candies to evolve your Vibrava into Flygon. Shadow Triad! I want each of you to attack Joe at a different place. One of you will fight Joe at Apricot City, another at Cantaloupe City, and another at Castle Ghetsis, which the rest of you will build on Chuso’s Route 4 while I’m gone. You with the Vibrava, come with me, and we’ll Fly to New Mt. Coronet to capture Zekrom. Victory will be in our grasp!” Ghetsis sent out Fearow to carry him and Bonnie over to New Mt. Coronet.

Joe's Adventure in Chuso Chapter 1

It has been one year since Rainbow Rocket has been defeated, and Joe has registered 127 additional Pokemon in that time, even some native to Chuso. After hearing how fun Chuso is, Joe decided to travel to the Region himself. The first stop he went to was Professor Jennifer Spruce’s lab in Strawburg. When he entered the lab, she greeted Joe with excitement.

“Joseph!” She said. “What brings you to Chuso today?”

“Well,” Joe started. “I’ve been told that Chuso is a fun Region to explore, as well as the ability to use seven Pokemon in your party instead of just six.”

“That’s correct, Joseph!” Said Jennifer. “I’ve been told that you’ve already registered 327 different Pokemon species. Is that true?”

“Why, yes it is, madam!” Said Joe proudly.

“Well,” Said Jennifer, picking up three different Poke Balls. “As with every other Pokemon Professor, I will hand out three different Pokemon for you to pick from. The Grass-Type avian Rowlet,” Rowlet was sent out. “The Fire-Type reptile Charmander,” Charmander was sent out. “And the Water-Type amphibian Froakie.” Froakie was sent out. “And no, these Pokemon don’t have Regional forms or new Evolutions. So, which one will you pick?”

“Well,” Joe thought out loud. “I already have a Grass/Ghost-Type Pokemon with Gourgeist, a Fire/Flying-Type Pokemon with Talonflame, and a Water/Dark-Type Pokemon with Crawdaunt. But then again, Charizard can Mega Evolve, and Mega Charizard X is Fire/Dragon, a Type combo I don’t have yet. Not to mention that I only have a baker's dozen Pokemon capable of Mega Evolving. I’ll pick Charmander!”

"Very good!” Said Jennifer, returning Rowlet and Froakie to their Poke Balls and handing Charmander’s ball to Joe. “Here’s Charmander’s ball. Please put him back inside.” Joe returned the Lizard Pokemon back to his Poke Ball, and Jennifer gave Joe a piece of paper.

“This is a list of all eight Gym Leaders you’ll face on your quest.” She said. “Two of these Trainers, Kathy and Bobby, will have Pokemon different from how other Trainers will face them.”

“Got it!” Said Joe, grabbing the paper.

“Just one more thing to tell you!” Said Jennifer. “The Gym Leaders would like you to use the same amount of Pokemon as them.”

“Okay!” Said Joe. “I’ll be on my way now!” Joe sent out Talonflame and set off for Apricot City.

Meanwhile, in Mahogany Town, Ghetsis has beaten yet another Trainer with his trusty Cryogonal. However, he noticed something shiny hanging from a tree right in front of the Gym, and fresh Cheri Berries were growing from it!

“Cheri Berries?” He asked himself. “Even when they shouldn’t be growing on pine trees?” He plucked the Berries from the tree and noticed something hard inside. Ghetsis opened the Berry and was surprised to find what was inside.

“This cannot be a pit.” He said. “Cheri pits are dark red. This one is bright blue. There can only be one explanation: Last year, Giovanni captured Xerneas, along with Groudon, Kyogre, and Arceus, to create his own planets with Archie, Maxie, and Lysandre. One of Xerneas’s crystals must have fallen off and scattered around here. I wonder what would happen if I were to eat this…” Ghetsis took a bite out of the remains of the Cheri, and immediately, he turned younger. His hair turned green, his bones and body regressed by 25 years, and he no longer needed a cane. Ghetsis was young again, and he had a new plan!

“I feel young again!” He exclaimed. “Time to reunite Team Plasma and liberate humans from Pokemon, for real this time! Good thing I caught a new Party of Pokemon after my last batch got confiscated by the police.” Ghetsis pulled a Poke Ball out of his cloak, sent out Fearow, and flew off to Unova to get as many crew members as possible.
