2014 was quite a year for animated
movies. We scaled new heights in computer animation with How To Train Your
Dragon 2, Big Hero 6, and The Book of Life, as well as new lows with The Hero
of Color City, The Nut Job, and Legends of Oz: Dorothy's Return. We had a
return to hand-drawn animation with the US releases of The Wind Rises, The Tale
of the Princess Kaguya, and Song of the Sea. We also ventured into the stop-motion
world of The Boxtrolls. However, there's one animated movie that's rather
unsung and almost forgotten: Henry & Me.
Henry & Me is
about a young boy in New York named Jack, and Jack lives baseball. When Jack
gets hit by a curve ball, he gets injured badly and gets sent to a hospital.
While at the hospital, he meets a magic entity named Henry and goes on a
magical adventure to Yankee Stadium. Jack meets Yankee legends of both past and
present, and learns valuable lessons that will give him the strength to go up
against his greatest battle ever.
This movie also has an emotional story and superb voice acting,
though the characters could've been fleshed out better. Never the less, Henry
& Me is an hour of enjoyment for the entire family.
I'm glad you got to see this film. I really enjoyed it also
