Story Announcement #8

On March 6th, I will begin posting a Pokemon version of Disney•Pixar's Finding Nemo, called Little Lost Luvdisc. I wanted to make this story because I have written a Pokemon story involving a Grass-Type Starter (Meganium in The Land before Kanto) and a Pokemon story involving a Fire-Type Starter (Emboar in The Shinx Who Would Be King), but no stories with a Water-Type Starter. For those who don't know what I'm talking about, Starter Pokemon are Pokemon players get to choose at the beginning of each Pokemon game. There are 21 Starter Pokemon, all of which are seven individual three-stage families. The players get to choose from a Water, Fire, or Grass-Type Starter Pokemon. Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle are all examples of Grass-Type starters.

Anyway, the Water-Type Starters that will appear in my story will be Squirtle, Wartortle, and Blastoise, who will take the roles of the surfing sea turtles.

For Marlin and Nemo, the iconic clownfish in the movie, I chose Luvdisc for both of them.
Picture
I chose Luvdisc because it lives symbiotically with the Pokemon Corsola, which is based on coral, but also has some traits similar to a sea anemone.

For Dory, the famous forgetful blue tang, I chose Seaking. I am aware that Seaking, along with Goldeen, are freshwater, but at the moment, we only have 35 fish Pokemon.

For Mr. Ray, the stingray teacher who loves to sing, I used Mantine, which is based on the manta ray.

For the Tank Gang, an Alomomola will take the place of Gill...
Picture
A Bruxish will take the place of Bubbles, the yellow fish obsessed with bubbles...
Picture
A Basculin (one with red stripes) will take the place of Gurgle, the germaphobic royal gramma...
Picture
A Lumineon will take the place of Deb, the damselfish who mistakes her reflection for another fish...
Picture
A Qwilfish will take the place of Bloat the pufferfish...
Picture
A Starmie will take the place of Peach the starfish...
Picture
And an Anorith will take the place of Jaques the cleaner shrimp.

For Bruce, the great white shark who hosts a carnivores anonymous  meeting, I used the dangerous Dark/Water-Type shark Sharpedo.

However, like Bruce, he will have a heart of gold.
For Phil Sherman, the absent-minded dentist who kidnaps Nemo, I used May, the protagonist/rival of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire, depending on the player's gender.

Instead of working as a dentist like Phil, May, who will be in her mid 20s, will be a teacher teaching young Pokemon trainers intermediate battle tactics. She will have Pokemon from both the anime and the video games in this story.
For everyone and everything else, you'll find out as the story progresses. Instead of taking place in Australia like 'Nemo', Little Lost Luvdisc will take place in Hoenn, the region players get to explore in Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

I will begin posting Little Lost Luvdisc on March 6th.
