"I
just happened to notice the book had nothing about Dragonite." He
asked. "Is there another book or a sequel? Maybe a Dragonite pamphlet?"
The top of his axe got blown off by a Salamence's Dragon Breath.
"Focus,
Brendan!" Shouted Dexio. "You're not even trying. Today is all about
attack! The Salamence is quick and light on its feet. Your job is to be
quicker and lighter!" The Salamence Head-Butted into Tierno's shield.
"I'm not sure if your teaching methods are safe!" He exclaimed.
"Look for its blind spot!" Said Dexio. "All Pokemon have one." Ryan and Bryan were dangerously close to the Salamence's mouth.
"Don't you ever bathe?" Asked Bryan.
"If you don't like it, then get your own blind spot." Said Ryan.
"How about I give you one?" Threatened Bryan. The Salamence was not pleased and used Flamethrower.
"Blind spot, yes. Deaf spot, not so much." Dexio chortled. Once again, Brendan ran towards Dexio, who was outside of the cage.
"How would one sneak up on a Dragonite?" Asked Brendan.
"No one's ever met one and lived to tell the tale." Replied Dexio. "Now get going!"
"I
know, but..." Brendan was interrupted by Serena. She gestured to him to
get down and hide. She stealthily tumbled to the next section of the
maze, with Gary following, and Brendan landing flat on his back. The
Salamence noticed him and Brendan barely escaped. It then noticed Serena and
Gary again.
"Watch out, hon." Said Gary. "I'll take care of
this." He threw his hammer, but it didn't hit the Pokemon. Serena ran
off, with Gary following, and the Salamence followed. Soon, the
entire maze fell down, and Serena landed on Brendan. Her axe got stuck
in Brendan's shield. She pulled the axe out, which still had the shield
stuck, and slammed it into the Salamence.
"Well done, Serena." Said Dexio.
"Is
this some kind of joke to you?" She said to Brendan. "Our parents' war
is about to become ours. Figure out what side you're on."

Later
that day, Brendan went back into the woods to check up on the
Dragonite. He tossed over a Feebas to lure the Dragonite. It didn't
work, so Brendan picked up the fish Pokemon and continued walking.
Little did he suspect that Dragonite was waiting on a rock. Brendan
suddenly noticed the Dragon Pokemon slowly walk off the rock and stand
in front of Brendan. He reluctantly held out the fish, and Dragonite was
about to eat the Feebas, but then he noticed a knife in Brendan's
pocket and growled. Brendan took the knife out of his pocket and threw
it in the lake. He once again held out the fish and Dragonite slowly
crept towards him. His mouth was wide open, but there were not teeth.
"Huh,
Toothless." Said Brendan. Suddenly, Dragonite's real teeth popped out
and he ate the Feebas. He crept closer towards Brendan, cornering him
near a rock. When it looked like Brendan was going to be attacked by
Dragonite, the Dragon Pokemon puked out the Feebas's tail. He wanted
Brendan to eat it, much to his dismay. He reluctantly took out a bite
out of the fish Pokemon and swallowed it.
Before Brendan could
pet Dragonite, the Pokemon growled and flew to a different side of the
lake, breathed embers on his nesting ground, and fell asleep. Brendan
tried to touch his tail, but the Dragonite backed away.
Later
that evening, Brendan with a stick drew a drawing on the ground of
Dragonite's head. The Dragonite was encouraged by this and grabbed a
large branch. With that branch, he scribbled lines on the ground. It
wasn't much of anything, but the Dragonite loved it. When Brendan
accidentally stepped on it, the Dragon Pokemon growled. Brendan took his
foot off the line and carefully walked across the drawing. He was very
close to Dragonite now. He tried to touch Dragonite again, but the
Pokemon growled. Brendan just closed his eyes and put his hand towards
Dragonite's forehead. Dragonite simply nudged his head against Brendan's
hand. When he opened his eyes, Brendan knew it. He made a new friend.
"I'll call you Toothless." He said.
