"I am Utada." She said. "Welcome
to Poketropolis."
Dawn soon
found an apartment where she could live in. It was owned by an elderly
Sandslash.
"Welcome
to the Grand Chesnaught Arms." She said. "Luxury apartments with
charm. Complimentary debugging once a month." She then handed Dawn her
apartment key.
"Don't
lose your key." The Sandslash warned, and she left.
"Thank
you." Said Dawn. Two Stantlers then walked by. "You must be my new
neighbors."
"Yeah,
well we're loud." Said a Stantler.
"Don't
expect us to apologize for it." Said another Stantler. The door then
closed, and Dawn went inside her room.
"Greasy
walls." The Lopunny said to herself. "Rickety bed." The two
Stantler could be heard arguing from the left side of the room. "Crazy
neighbors. I love it!" She then fell on the bed with delight.

The next morning, Dawn woke up early, got dressed
in her uniform, grabbed her key, and was about to head to work, but then she
noticed her Dark-Type repellant. At first, she decided to keep it at home, but
then grabbed it just in case.---------------------------------------------------------

After a
few minutes, Dawn arrived at the Poketropolis Police Department. At the counter
was a Snorlax named Gabriel Snorlock eating a waffle shaped like a Pikachu.
Little did he know that Dawn was waiting at the counter.
"Excuse
me." She said. "Down here." Gabriel looked down and couldn't
believe his eyes. "Hi."
"OMG!"
He said. "They really did hire a Lopunny! I gotta tell you, you are even
cuter than I thought you'd be!"
"Oh."
Said Dawn. "You probably didn't know, but a Lopunny can call another Lopunny
cute, but when other Pokémon do it, it's a little..." Gabe gasped upon
hearing that.
"I am
so sorry!" He said. "Me, Gabriel Snorlock, the guy everyone thinks is
just a flabby food-loving Snorlax, stereotyping you. Oh..."
"It's
okay." Said Dawn, who then noticed something stuck in Gabe's neck.
"Oh, you've actually got a Lava Cookie stuck in your neck." Gabe felt
around his neck and found a Lava Cookie.
"There
you are, you little dickens!" He said, and he gobbled the cookie whole.
"I
should get to roll call." Said Dawn. "Which way is it?"
"The
bullpen's over there to the left." Replied Gabe, who had his mouth full.
"Great!
Thank you." Said Dawn, and she headed on her way.
"Aw."
Gabe said to himself. "That poor Lopunny is gonna get eaten alive."
Dawn soon
made it to the meeting room, which was full of bigger Pokémon like Arcanine,
Rhydon, Donphan, Luxray, Beartic, and Lucario. Dawn found a comfortable, albeit
large, spot next to a Nidoking and tried to make small talk with him.
"Hey,
Officer Lopps." She began. "You ready to make the world a better
place?" She held her paw in a fist, attempting to give him a fist pump.
The Nidoking snorted and gave her a fist pump while pushing her at the same time.
"Attend
hut!" Said a Hippowdon, and Chief Taki, a Terrakion, walked into the room
while the Pokémon chanted.
"All
right. All right!" Said Taki. "Everybody sit. I got three items on
the docket. First, we need to acknowledge the Donphan in the room. Francine,
happy birthday." The Pokémon roared with cheer. "Number two, there
are some new recruits with us I should introduce, but I'm not going to because
I don't care. Finally, we have 14 missing Pokémon cases. All predators, from a
mighty Beartic to a teensy little Weavile. And City Hall is right up my tail to
find them. This is priority number one." Taki was then handed three
clipboards.
"McHorn,
Luke, Tuske. You check Desert Resort." He handed a clipboard to a
Nidoking, a Lucario, and a Donphan. "Wulfric, Takamoto, Hugo. Check
Snowpoint Falls." He handed a clipboard to a Beartic, a Luxray, and a
Hippowdon. "Driller, Cruikshank, Fangmire. Check Santalune Forest."
He handed the last clipboard to a Rhydon, an Ursaring, and an Arcanine. All
that was left was Dawn Lopps.
"And
finally, our first Lopunny, Officer Lopps." Said Taki. "Parking duty.
Dismissed." This left Dawn dissatisfied, so she decided to talk to Taki
before he left.
"Chief!
Chief Taki!" She said as she got off her large seat and ran towards the
Terrakion. "Sir, you said there were 14 missing Pokémon cases."
"So?"
Asked Taki.
"I
can handle one." Said Dawn. "You probably forgot, but I was top of my
class at the Academy."
"Didn't
forget. Just don't care." Replied Taki.
"I'm
not just some token Lopunny." Said Dawn.
"Then
righting 100 tickets a day should be easy." Said Taki, and he left the
bullpen. This left Dawn mad.
"A
hundred tickets." She scoffed. "I'm not gonna right a hundred
tickets. I'm gonna right 200 tickets! Before noon."
