Poketropolis Chapter 2

Fifteen years later, Dawn has matured into a Lopunny with high hopes. She entered the Poketropolis Police Academy to become a cop. Others training to be a cop included a Hippowdon, a Donphan, and a Lucario.
"Listen up, cadets!" Said an Ursaring, the drill instructor. "Poketropolis has twelve unique ecosystems within its city limits. Snowpoint Falls, Santalune Forest, and Desert Restort to name a few. You're gonna have to master all of them before you hit the streets, or guess what? You'll be dead!"
---------------------------------
The first assignment was a simulated sandstorm, in which the Pokémon had to withstand a raging sandstorm. However, Dawn got buried in the sand.
"You're dead, Bunny Bumpkin!" Said the drill instructor.
------------------------------------
Next, the cadets had to climb monkey bars during the rain, to prepare themselves for Santalune Forest. Dawn slipped and fell face down into the mud.
"You're dead, Carrot Face!" Said the drill instructor.
---------------------------------------
Next, the cadets had to climb over a glacier while running across ice and without falling into the cold water. Dawn unfortunately couldn't grab onto the glacier and fell into the frigid water.
"You're dead, Farm Girl!" Said the drill instructor.
---------------------------------------------
Next, for Dawn only, she had to fight a Rhydon, which was much bigger than her. However, the Rhydon slugged her.
"You're dead, Fluff Butt!" Said the drill instructor.
-----------------------------------------------
It seemed that everything Dawn did was a failure. The instructor even told her to go home, but Dawn refused to give up and studied extra hard on her books. One day, she managed to get across the glacier by jumping on the other cadets' heads. This impressed the instructor, and from then on, Dawn completed her training and become eligible to become a cop.
---------------------------------------------------------
Then the day came. It was Graduation Day, and Mayor Leroy Tajiri, a Pyroar, was giving a speech. A Flaaffy was by his side.
"As mayor of Poketropolis," He began. "I am proud to announce that my Pokémon Inclusion Initiative has produced its first police academy graduate. Valedictorian of her glass, PPD's very first Lopunny officer, Dawn Lopps!" Dawn then walked to the stage.
"Assistant Mayor Shockwool," Leroy said to the Flaaffy. "Her badge."
"Oh, yes. Right!" She said, and Mary Shockwool gave the badge to Dawn.
"Dawn," Said Leroy. "It is my great privilege to officially assign you to the heart of Poketropolis: Police Station One. City Center." Everyone in the audience cheered.
"Congratulations, Officer Lopps." Said Mary.
"I won't let you down." Replied Dawn. "This has been my dream since I was a Buneary."
"It's a real proud day for us little guys." Said Mary.
"Out of the way, Shockwool." Said Leroy. "Okay, Officer Lopps. Let's see those teeth!" Dawn smiled wide as Pokémon took pictures of her.
---------------------------------------------------------
Then the day came in which Dawn had to leave Diggersby Dunes to pursue her dream. Her entire family was watching her at the train station.
"We're real proud of you, Dawn." Said Elaine.
"Yeah." Said Mark. "Scared, too. It's kind of a proud/scared combo. I mean Poketropolis. So far away. Such a big city."
"Mom, dad." Said Dawn. "I've been working for this my whole life."
"We know." Said Elaine. "And we're just a little excited for you, but terrified."
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." Said Dawn.
"And also Bewears." Said Mark. "We have Bewears to fear, too. Say nothing on Liepards and Mightyenas."
"Mightyenas?" Questioned Elaine.
"Weaviles." Said Mark.
"You play mahjong with a Weavile." Said Elaine.
"Yeah," Said Mark. "And he cheats like there's no tomorrow. You know what, pretty much all predators, and Poketropolis is full of them."
"Oh, Mark." Said Elaine.
"And foxes are the worst." Said Mark.
"Your father actually has a point there." Said Elaine. "Remember what happened with Keenan White?"
"Back when I was nine." Said Dawn. "Keenan was a jerk that happened to be a fox. I know a lot of Fairy-Types who are jerks."
"Sure, we all do." Said Mark. "In fact, Ninetales are more rural than most predators. However, there is Zoroark, and they don't call it the Tricky Fox Pokémon for nothing. In case you see one, we made you a little care package to take with you." Mark then held up a bag with a Buneary's face on it.
"I put some snacks in there." Said Elaine. Mark then pulled something out of the bag.
"This is Dark-Type repellent," Said Mark. "This is a Poké Toy, in case you need to escape, and check this out!" Mark pulled out a small yellow and black box that looked like a generator. There was also an outlet in the center. When he pressed the button, sparks flew out. Thankfully, since Mark is part Ground, he didn't get electrocuted.
"Oh, Arceus." Said Elaine, grabbing the electric box. "She has no need for a Poké Taser, Mark."
"Oh, come on." Said Mark. "When is there not a need for a Poké Taser?"
"Okay, look!" Said Dawn, grabbing the Dark-Type repellant. "I'll take this to make you stop talking."
"Terrific!" Said Mark. "Everyone wins!" The train then arrived, and it had three doors in three different sizes: Large, medium, and small. A Tauros came out the large door, a Bibarel out of the medium door, and a Dedenne out of the small door.
"Okay, gotta go!" Said Dawn, as she got on the train. "Bye!" She got inside the train, but then got out to hug her parents, and then headed back in the train. Everyone in the Lopps family was both happy and sad that Dawn was leaving, and Mark was even crying tears of joy.
Author's Notes: The Poké Taser in this chapter happens to be an Electorizer. Trade Electrabuzz while it's holding this item, and it will evolve into Electivire.

A Fluffy Tail is an item in the Pokémon games that allows you to escape from a wild Pokémon.
Fluffy Tail
Snowpoint Falls is named after Snowpoint City in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum.

Santalune Forest is named after the location of the same name in Pokémon X and Y. Like most Pokémon games, one of the first places where new Trainers can catch Pokémon is a small forest. Santalne Forest is inhabited by classic Bug-Types Caterpie and Weedle, the ever-popular Pikachu, and the underappreciated Elemental Monkeys, Pansage, Pansear, and Panpour. Then newbies Scatterbug and Fletchling can be caught there as well.

In case you're wondering, the Poke Balls on this map DO NOT contain Pokémon.

Desert Resort is named after one of the locations in Pokémon Black and White, as well as the sequels Pokémon Black and White 2. Contrary to its name, Desert Resort is not a hotel. It is actually a pathway to an abandoned castle aptly titled Relic Castle.
