“You defeated Groudon?!” Maxie shouted. “Next up is Archie, and his Pokémon have fewer weaknesses than mine!”
“Alright.” Said Joe, returning Quagsire to her Poke Ball. “But at least let me heal my Pokémon, first! Nobody's that heartless."
“We’re humans.” Said Archie. “We need hearts to live. You heard Maxie about us creating our planets soon. Mine will be dedicated to only Pokémon! It’ll be just like Earth during the Cambrian Era.”
“But didn’t fish Pokémon walk on land to evolve into the likes of Swampert and Quagsire?” Asked Joe, restoring his Pokémon to
“Enough chatter!” Said Archie. “Go, Ludicolo!” Ludicolo was sent out.
“I choose you!” Shouted Joe. “Kricketune!” Kricketune was sent out.
“Kricketune!” Said Joe. “Use X-Scissor!” Kricketune slashed at Ludicolo by crossing his scythes as if they were a pair of scissors, dealing a great amount of damage.
“Ludicolo!” Said Archie. “Use Hydro Pump!” Ludicolo shot lots of water from his mouth at Kricketune, dealing a lot of damage. Luckily, Joe thought of a way out of this.
“Kricketune!” Said Joe. “Use Leech Life!” Kricketune sunk its mandibles into Ludicolo, drinking enough nutrients to replenish its health. The Carefree Pokémon fainted after that.
“Interesting first choice.” Said Archie, returning Ludicolo to his Poke Ball. “Go, Whiscash!” Whiscash was sent out.
“You did a great job, Kricketune!” Said Joe, returning the Cricket Pokémon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Shiftry!” Shiftry was sent out.
“Shiftry!” Said Joe. “Use Leaf Blade!” Shiftry slashed Huntail with a sharp leaf, leaving the Deep Sea Pokémon with half of her HP.
“Huntail!” Said Maxie. “Use Ice Fang!” Huntail tried to bite Shiftry with her icy fangs, but the Wicked Pokémon was too quick.
“Shiftry!” Said Joe. “Use Leaf Storm!” Shiftry whipped up a storm of sharp leaves that scooped up Huntail, and the Deep Sea Pokémon fainted.
“While Huntail has good Physical stats,” Maxie explained while returning Huntail to her Poke Ball. “Gorebyss has great Special stats! Go, Gorebyss!” Gorebyss was sent out.
“You did a great job, Shiftry!” Said Joe, returning the Wicked Pokémon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Dedenne!” Dedenne was sent out.
“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Thunderbolt!” Dedenne let out a strong electrical blast that not only cut Gorebyss’s HP in half, but also paralyzed him.
“Gorebyss!” Said Maxie. “Use Psybeam!” Gorebyss tried moving, but the South Sea Pokémon couldn’t move due to paralysis.
“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Finish him off with Discharge!” Dedenne let loose a flare of electricity so strong that it knocked out Gorebyss.
“Before I send out Kyogre,” Said Archie, returning Gorebyss to his Poke Ball. “I better use a Pokémon to counteract Electric-Types. Go, Kingdra!” Kingdra was sent out.
“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Play Rough!” Dedenne played rough with Kingdra, and the Dragon Pokémon lost 40% of his HP.
“Kingdra!” Said Archie. “Use Hydro Pump!” Kingdra shot lots of water from his snout at Dedenne, but because of the Antenna Pokémon's diminutive size, the attack missed and hit Lysandre, instead.
“Hey!” He shouted. “Hit the kid, not me!”
“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Finish off Kingdra with Dazzling Gleam!” Dedenne emitted a powerful flash that was strong enough to knock out Kingdra.
“How is that possible?!” Asked Archie. “Dragon Pokémon are super powerful!”
“Not as powerful as they used to be!” Said Joe, returning Dedenne to his Poke Ball. “The Fairy-Type was introduced a few years ago to make Dragon not as overpowered. As well as newly discovered Pokémon species like Mimiyku, Alcremie, Carbink, and Dedenne over here, older Pokémon like Jigglypuff, Marill, Mr. Mime, and Mawile all gained the Fairy-Type, while Clefairy, Togepi, and Snubbull were changed from Normal to Fairy. Which is perfectly fine for me because there are more than 100 Normal-Type species out there. I counted.”
“Time to bring out the master of the waves!” Said Maxie, returning Kingdra to his Poke Ball. “Go, Kyogre!” Kyogre was sent out. Shortly after that, Joe sent out Shiftry.
“Shiftry!” Said Joe. “Use Leaf Storm!” Shiftry summoned leaves that hit Kyogre like darts, which dealt a great amount of damage, but harshly lowered her Special Attack stat.
“Kyogre!” Said Archie. “Use Ice Beam!” Kyogre fired an icy-cold beam of energy at Shiftry, which also dealt a great amount of damage.
“Shiftry!” Said Joe. “Use Leaf Blade!” Shiftry lashed its leafy blades around Kyogre’s face, leaving the Sea Basin Pokémon with 40% of its HP.
“Kyogre!” Said Archie. “Use Ice Beam!” Kyogre fired another icy-cold beam of energy at Shiftry, and the Wicked Pokémon fainted.
“You did an amazing job, Shiftry!” Said Joe, returning Shiftry to her Poke Ball. “Go, Dedenne!” Dedenne was sent out.
“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Thunderbolt!” Dedenne let out a strong electrical blast that actually knocked out Kyogre.
