Rise of Rainbow Rocket Chapter 13

As Archie just stood there jaw-dropped at the unconscious Kyogre, Lysandre walked over to Joe, who was healing his Pokémon.

“While Maxie and Archie focus on one Type,” He explained. “I focus on a variety of Types! Go, Pyroar!” Pyroar was sent out.

“I choose you!” Said Joe. “Machamp!” Machamp was sent out.

“Pyroar!” Said Lysandre. “Use Flamethrower!” Pyroar breathed very hot flames on Machamp, but the Superpower Pokémon took the hit.

“Machamp!” Said Joe. “Use Cross Chop!” Machamp ran over to Pyroar, raised her four arms into the air, and delivered four vicious chops. This caused the Royal Pokémon to faint.

“You just got lucky.” Said Lysandre, returning Pyoar to his Poké Ball. “Machamp just happens to be a powerful Pokémon. Coincidentally, I also have an old-school species. Go, Pidgeot!” Pidgeot was sent out.

“You did a great job, Machamp!” Said Joe, returning the Superpower Pokémon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Dedenne!” Dedenne was sent out.

“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Thunderbolt!” Dedenne let out a strong electrical blast that cut Pidgeot’s HP in half.

“Pidgeot!” Said Lysandre. “Use Swift!” Pidgeot summoned stars and threw them at Dedenne.

“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Parabolic Charge!” Dedenne attacked everything around it with electricity, restoring his HP and knocking out Pidgeot in the process.

“You’re stronger than I thought.” Said Lysandre, returning Pidgeot to her Poke Ball. “Go, Garchomp!” Garchomp was sent out.

“You did a great job, Dedenne!” Said Joe, returning the Antenna Pokémon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Lapras!” Lapras was sent out.

“Garchomp!” Said Lysandre. “Use Dragon Claw!” Garchomp ran towards Lapras and scratched her with his strong scythes.

“Lapras!” Said Joe. “Use Ice Beam!” Lapras fired an icy-cold beam of energy at Garchomp, and the Mach Pokémon fainted.

“Inconceivable!” Shouted Lysandre, returning Garchomp to his Poke Ball. “Go, Mienshao!” Mienshao was sent out.

“You did a great job, Lapras!” Said Joe, returning the Transport Pokémon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Musharna!” Musharna was sent out.

“Mienshao!” Said Lysandre. “Use Fake Out!” Mienshao used his Scyther-like hands and slapped Musharna together with them, making her flinch.

“Now use High Jump Kick!” Mienshao climbed up a shelf, jumped off of it, and delivered a powerful kick, which luckily for Musharna, didn’t do that much damage.

“Musharna!” Said Joe. “Use Zen Headbutt!” Musharna focused her willpower to her head and rammed into Mienshao, making the Martial Arts Pokémon lose half his HP.

“Mienshao!” Said Lysandre. “Use Swift!” Mienshao summoned stars and threw them at Musharna.

“Musharna!” Said Joe. “Use Psychic!” Musharna hit Mienshao with a telekinetic force so strong that it knocked out the Martial Arts Pokémon.

“No more games!” Shouted Lysandre, returning Mienshao to his Poke Ball. “Go, Gyarados!” Gyarados was sent out.

“You did a great job, Musharna!” Said Joe, returning the Drowsing Pokémon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Dedenne!” Dedenne was sent out.

“You haven’t seen nothing yet!” Said Lysandre, pressing a button on his ring, causing Gyarados to change: His stomach and forehead crest turned black, his whiskers and pectoral fins grew longer, and grew a yellow dorsal fin that would make Alomomola jealous. Gyarados has Mega Evolved into Mega Gyarados.

“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Thunderbolt!” Dedenne let out a strong electrical blast that dealt a substantial amount of damage to Mega Gyarados.

“Gyarados!” Said Lysandre. “Use Aqua Tail!” Mega Gyarados hit Dedenne with his tail as if it were a vicious wave in a raging storm, which sent Dedenne flying right through the ceiling and out into the forest. A few minutes later, Dedenne returned inside the Chateau, though he was getting tired.

“Dedenne!” Said Joe. “Use Parabolic Charge!” Dedenne attacked everything around him with electricity, and it not only did a great amount of damage to Mega Gyarados, but also restored Dedenne’s HP.

“Gyarados!” Said Lysandre. “Use Hyper Beam!” Mega Gyarados fired a powerful beam so strong that it unfortunately knocked out Dedenne.

“That was great, Dedenne.” Said Joe, returning the Antenna Pokémon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Machamp!” Machamp was sent out.

“Machamp!” Said Joe. “Use Dynamic Punch!” Machamp hit Mega Gyarados with a punch so powerful that it knocked him out, reverting the Atrocious Pokémon to his original form.

“No more games!” Said Lysandre, returning Gyarados to his Poke Ball. “This ends now! Go, Xerneas!” Xerneas was sent out.

“You did a great job, Machamp!” Said Joe, returning the Superpower Pokémon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Aggron!” Aggron was sent out.

“Xerneas!” Said Lysadnre. “Use Close Combat!” Xerneas fought Aggron up close without guarding itself, which not only left the Iron Armor Pokémon with 30% of his HP, but also harshly lowered Xerneas’s Defense and Special Defense stats.

“Aggron!” Said Joe. “Use Iron Tail!” Aggron hit Xerneas with his hard tail, leaving the Life Pokemon with half its HP.

“Xerneas!” Said Lysandre. “Use Night Slash!” Xerneas slashed Aggron with its mighty horns, leaving the Iron Armor Pokemon with 10% of his HP.

“Aggron!” Said Joe. “Use Iron Head!” Aggron slammed into Xerneas with his sharp horn and steel-hard head, leaving the Life Pokémon with 20% of its HP.

“Xerneas!” Said Lysandre. “Use Horn Leech!” Xerneas ran towards Aggron and drained nutrients from Aggron, making him faint.

“It’s tough fighting a Legendary, buddy.” Said Joe, returning Aggron to his Poke Ball. “Go, Talonflame!” Talonflame was sent out.

“Talonflame!” Said Joe. “Use Flamethrower!” Talonflame breathed very hot flames at Xerneas, and the Life Pokémon fainted.

Author's Notes: For a while, I was going to give Lysandre a Honchkrow like in the games, but then I thought that it would be too confusing with two Trainers with a Honchkrow (Lysandre and Giovanni), so I gave Lysandre a Pidgeot. I made this decision because Pidgeot is beautiful, and Lysandre wanted to make a world dedicated to beauty in X and Y.

I know Pidgeot shouldn't be able to use Swift, but in Generations 1 and 2, it actually could learn that move via TM. Raticate could also learn Swift through TM, as shown here.

For everyone wondering how Xerneas shrank back to normal, the Dynamax Energy wore off.
