It was nighttime, and a young boy was just tucked into bed. He was about to fall asleep, but he heard a whoosh sound. He thought he saw an arm drooping out of his closet, but it was just a coat hanger. He closed his eyes again, but when he opened them again, he saw a small blue creature with a crooked nose. The boy screamed, causing the creature to scream. He slipped on a skateboard, got hit with a soccer ball, and sat on some jacks. This caused him to scream and run around the floor. Suddenly, the boy became stiff; He was an animatronic. One of the walls starting rising up.
"Simulation terminated. Simulation terminated. Simulation terminated. Simulation terminated." A robotic voice said. When the wall was completely out of view, it revealed a bald eagle with blue feathers. He was behind a control panel with numerous buttons and dials. Behind him were a green Frackle (not to be confused with Fraggles), a hungry purple monster, and a prawn who looked more like a cockroach, who were taking notes.
"Mr. Gonzo, is it?" Asked the eagle.
"My friends call me the Chicken Lover." He said.
"Mr. Gonzo," Sam, the eagle, continued. "Can you tell me what you did wrong?"
"I fell down?" Gonzo answered in an awkward way.
"No, before that!" Said Sam. "Can anyone point out Gonzo's big mistake? Anyone?" There was no answer, and Sam just growled.
"Humph," Muttered Sam. "I'm working with imbeciles." He rewound the footage of Gonzo sneaking into the boy's bedroom while leaving the door open. "There it is! He left the door open! And leaving the door open is the biggest mistake any employee can make because...?"
"It could let in a draft?" Guessed Gonzo.
"It could let in a child!" Said JP Grosse, owner of Muppets Incorporated. "There's nothing more toxic and more deadly than a human child. A single touch could kill you! Leaving the door open would let a child walk right into the factory, right into this Muppet world!" This caused Pepe, the prawn, to get nervous.
"Don't let me go in there!" He pleaded, jumping into the arms of the purple monster. "I don't want to end up being a tempura!"
"You're going in there 'cause we need this." JP twisted the cap of a canister and screams of children leaked out. The lights acted crazy as the screams echoed through the room. JP then twisted the cap back on, and the lights went back to normal. "Our city is counting on you to collect those children's screams. Without screams, we have no power. That's why I want you to be tenacious, tough, and intimidating! I need you to be like... George C Splurgenson!"
Author's Notes: The Frackles were monsters that originally appeared in the 1970 TV special 'The Great Santa Claus Switch', and would appear regularly on The Muppet Show.
The hungry purple monster is Luncheon Counter Monster, who also appeared on The Muppet Show.
