Muppets Inc Chapter 10

Later that night, the girl drew countless drawings. Splurge threw her pieces of Kap'n Alphabet (a brand of cereal) to keep her at bay. Marc was at a desk writing possible plans. Since there was no electricity because of the incident in the last chapter, there are numerous candles.

"How could I be so stupid?" Said Splurge. "This could destroy the company!"

"The company?!" Said Marc. "Who cares about the company? What about us? That thing is a killing machine!" He pointed to the girl, who was dancing around in circles. "I bet it's just waiting for us to fall asleep and then wham! We're done for. However, I devised a plan. Using mainly spoons, we'll dig a tunnel under the city and release it into the wild."

"Spoons?" Questioned Splurge.

"That's it. I'm out of ideas." Said Marc, crumbling up the piece of paper and throwing it in the garbage. "We're closed. Hot air balloon? Too expensive. Giant slingshot? Too conspicuous. Giant wooden horse? Too Greek!" The girl then drew a picture of what appeared to be her and Splurge holding hands. She rubbed her eyes and started to yawn.

"Marc?" Said Splurge. "I think she's getting tired."

"Well," Responded Marc. "Why don't you find someplace for it to sleep... While I think of a plan!" Splurge lured the girl into his bedroom using Kap'n Alphabet and poured the rest of it on a newspaper, where she could sleep. However, she got into Splurge's bed.

"Hey, that's my bed!" Said Splurge. "You're going to get your germs all over it." The girl just snuggled in.

"Fine." Splurge sighed in relief. "My chair is more comfortable anyway." When Splurge was about to exit the room, the girl yelled to get Splurge's attention. She was afraid of something coming out of here closet.

"It's just a closet." He said. "Will you go to sleep?" The girl then pulled out a drawing of what appeared to be Lenny.

"Hey, that looks like Lenny." Said Splurge. "Lenny's your monster. You think he’s going to come out of the closet to scare you." He opened the door to prove his point.

"It's empty, see?" Explained Splurge, while the child hid under the blanket. "No monster in here." He entered the closet. "Well, now there is, but I'm not going to scare you. I'm off duty." However, the girl was still a bit nervous. Splurge then decided to use hand gestures to talk to her.

"You go to sleep." He then impersonated sleep, which made the girl laugh. She then fell asleep herself, and Splurge exited the room quietly.

"Hey, Marc." He said to his one-eyed friend. "This might sound crazy, but I don't think that kid's dangerous."

"Well, in that case, let's keep it." Said Marc in a sarcastic tone. "I always wanted a pet that could kill me!"

"What if we just put her back in her room?" Suggested Splurge. "It would be like it never happened."

"Is that a joke?" Asked Marc. "Splurge, I'd like to point that, given the circumstances, I have been extremely forgiving up to now, but that's a horrible idea!" While Marc was talking, Splurge looked at his green chair. This gave him an idea.

"What are we going to do?" Asked Marc. "Waltz into the factory?"
