Little Lost Luvdisc Chapter 5

Little Lost Luvdisc Chapter 5

Meanwhile, in Slateport City, May Shinkai, who beat the Elite Four years ago, decided to open up a Trainer's school in Slateport. It is located where Stern's Shipyard used to be. She refashioned it into a Gym-like building where Trainers can learn about advanced battle tactics, such as Type match-ups, differences between Physical and Special moves, and weather conditions. Trainers even get to keep a Pokémon she lets them borrow, but only if they did exceptionally well. The only exception is Kiki, her niece. May has to give her a Pokémon once a year, or else Kiki's parents, Whitney and Clemont, who are also Gym Leaders, will be very mad.
Anyway, for Rakki, the young Luvdisc found himself in a strange and kind of scary new place. He tried to escape, but there were barriers everywhere; It was a large tank of glass kept for Water-Type Pokémon.
"Hello, little fella!" She said to the Luvdisc, and Rakki hid behind a rock. "Isn't it cute, Hannah? I found this poor guy struggling for life out in Route 127, and I saved him. So, ready to learn about Fairy-Types?" When Rakki backed out from behind the rock, a plastic treasure chest opened up, and lots of bubbles came bursting out of the chest. This caught the attention of a Bruxish, who happened to be obsessed with bubbles.
"Bubbles!" Said the Bruxish, and it charged towards the plastic chest and closed it. This startled Rakki a bit.
"He likes bubbles." Said a Starmie attached to the glass. This definitely scared Rakki, and he went inside a plastic Cloyster. However, he wasn't alone in the toy.
"Bonjour." Said an Anorith, and Rikki swam out of the Cloyster. He was surrounded by the Bruxish from earlier, as well as a Qwilfish, a Basculin, and a Lumineon. However, this Lumineon was brown and tan instead of blue and aquamarine.
"Slow down, little fella." Said the Qwilfish. "There's nothing to worry about."
"Aw, he's scared to death." Said the Lumineon, who happened to be female.
"I want to go home." Said Rakki. "Do you know where my dad is?"
"Honey," Said the Starmie. "Your dad's probably back with the Professor."
"The Professor?" Asked Rakki.
"Yeah," Said Bloat (the Qwilfish). "You know, like, I'm from Ken's Fish Mart."
"Driftveil City." Said Redeye (the Basculin).
"Undella Town." Said Baburu (the Bruxish).
"Game Corner!" Said Tate (the Lumineon).
"Poké Bank." Said Ruby (the Starmie).
"So, where are you from?" Asked Redeye.
"I'm from the ocean." Replied Rakki.
"Ah, the ocean." Said Redeye. "The ocean? Aah! He hasn't been decontaminated, yet. Arnaldo! Clean him!" The Anorith came out of the Cloyster and spun Rakki around until he was sparkling clean. The Old Shrimp Pokémon then went inside a piece of fake coral.
"Wow, the big blue." Said Baburu. "What is it like?"
"Uh, big and blue?" Replied Rakki.
"I knew it!" Said Baburu.
"If there's anything you need," Said Tate. "Just ask your Auntie Tate. Or if I'm not around, you can ask my sister Liza." However, Liza was just Tate's reflection. "But don't listen to her. She is nuts."
"We've got a battle." Said Ruby.
"Boy, oh boy." Said Bloat with delight.
"What have we got?" Asked Tate.
"It's May's Sylveon against a Level 12 Makuhita." Replied Ruby. "By the looks of it, and the child's limited knowledge of the recently-discovered Fairy-Type, it's not going to end well." The fish Pokémon looked through the tank to see the Sylveon and Makuhita fight. May's Sylveon brushed off pixie dust and threw it on the Makuhita.
"It looks like he used Dazzling Gleam." Said Bloat.
"He didn't use Dazzling Gleam." Said Redeye. "He used Fairy Wind."
"There was flash of light." Said Bloat. "Obviously Dazzling Gleam."
"No. Fairy Wind."
"Dazzling Gleam."
"Fairy Wind!"
"Dazzling Gl-" Bloat then inflated like a balloon. "There I go. A little help here."
"I'll go deflate him." Said Tate, and she squeezed water out of the Qwilfish, creating a current in the water that went East.
On the outside of the tank, Hannah's Makuhita was low on Hit Points. She looked at a chart on the wall, and she remembered that Fairy-Type Pokemon have two weaknesses: Poison and Steel. Makuhita was returned from its Poké Ball and was swapped for Aron. A Pelipper flew to the window and started speaking to the fish.
"Hey, Gulliver." Greeted Ruby.
"What did I miss?" He asked.
"It was Sylveon against Makuhita." Answered Ruby.
"May seems to be favoring that dog, lately." Said Gulliver. He then noticed the Luvdisc. "Hello. Who's this?"
"The new guy." Said Tate.
"May took him all the way from Kalos!"
"A wild Pokémon." Said Gulliver. "From my neck of the woods, eh? Sorry if I ever took a snap at you. Fish gotta swim, birds gotta eat." May then noticed the Pelipper and shooed him out of the window. However, he broke one of May's pictures.
"Oh, my picture broke." She said. "This here's Kiki. She's my niece. She's going to turn eight this week." May then focused her eyes on Rakki, and showed the photo of Kiki to Rakki. Upon seeing her, all the other fish Pokémon fled. "Hey, little fella. Say hello to your new mommy. She'll be here Friday to pick you up. You're her present, but don't tell her. It's our secret." She placed the photo next to the tank so the fish could see. In the picture was a young girl holding a plastic bag with a Lotad inside.
"Oh, Kiki." Said Bloat.
"What?" Asked Rakki. "What's wrong with her?"
"She always brings her Pokémon to the wrong places." Said Redeye.
"Poor Jorge." Said Bloat.
"He was her present last year." Said Tate.
"He got attacked by a swarm of Beedrill." Said Bloat. This started making Rakki nervous.
"I can't go with that girl." Said Rakki. "I have to get back to my dad." He then got stuck in a tube. "Aah! Daddy, help me!" The other fish tried to get him out, but then, an Alomomola came in.
"Nobody touch him." He said. "Nobody touch him." He swam to Rakki to give him advice.
"Can you help me?" Asked Rakki.
"No." Said the Alomomola. "You got yourself in there. You can get yourself out." The other fish wanted to intervene, but Alomomola raised his pectoral fin. They know to never mess with an Alomomola, as it had special healing powers.
"Calm down, kid." Said Yasei (the Alomomola). "Alternate wiggling your fins and your tail."
"But I have a bad fin." Said Rakki.
"Didn't stop me." Said Yasei, showing Rikki his damaged dorsal fins. "Just think about what you need to do." Rakki concentrated and made it out of the tube. Bloat, Redeye, Tate, and Baburu were cheering on him.
"He's from the ocean." Ruby said to Yasai. "Just like you, Yasei." The Alomomola had a determined look on his face. "I've seen that look before. What are you thinking about?"
"I'm thinking that tonight, we give the kid a proper reception."
"So, what do they call you?" Asked Bloat.
"Rakki." Answered the Luvdisc. "I'm Rakki."
Author's Notes: Yasei means 'wild' in Japanese.
Tate and 'Liza', the Lumineon who takes the role of Deb and 'Flo', are named after the Psychic-Type twin Gym leaders in Pokemon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald.

Tate in this story is a Shiny Lumineon. All Pokemon have Shiny forms, and they have better stats than normal Pokemon. However, they are extremely rare.

For the blank space between Misdreavus and Wobbuffet, Unown, which is based on the Latin alphabet, would be there.
Baburu means 'bubble' in Japanese.
Ken's Fish Mart is named after Pokemon designer Ken Sugimori.
