Joe entered the room with the spiral pattern on it, and he encountered Horace, who uses Psychic-Type Pokemon.
“My name is Horace.” He said. “I believe the key to successful Pokemon battles is with skill, not force. Luckily, all my Pokemon use special attacks! Go, Orbeetle!” Orbeetle was sent out.
“I choose you!” Said Joe. “Talonflame!” Talonflame was sent out.
“Talonflame!” Said Joe. “Use Brave Bird!” Talonflame flew to the air and crashed into Orbeetle, leaving the Seven Spot Pokemon with half his HP. Talonflame also took serious damage from recoil.
“Orbeetle!” Said Horace. “Use Psychic!” Orbeetle hit Talonflame with a strong telekinetic force, dealing 80 Hit Points to the Scorching Pokemon.
“Talonflame!” Said Joe. “Use Overheat!” Talonflame emitted powerful flames from her body, making the Seven Spot Pokemon faint. Her Special Attack stat also fell by one rank.
“Luckily, my next Pokemon has an amazing Type combo!” Said Horace, returning Orbeetle to his Poke Ball. “Go, Gardevoir!” Gardevoir was sent out.
“You deserve a rest, Talonflame!” Said Joe, returning the Scorching Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Skuntank!” Skuntank was sent out.
“Skuntank!” Said Joe. “Use Sucker Punch!” Skuntank smacked Gardevoir with her hind legs, leaving the Embrace Pokemon with 80% of his HP.
“Gardevoir!” Said Horace. “Use Dazzling Gleam!” Gardevoir emitted a powerful blast of light that left Skuntank with 65% of her HP.
“Skuntank!” Said Joe. “Use Sludge Bomb!” Skuntank hurled gunk at Gardevoir, leaving the Embrace Pokemon with 70% of his HP. He also got poisoned from the attack.
“Gardevoir!” Said Horace. “Use Dazzling Gleam!” Gardevoir tried attacking Skuntank again, but it missed thanks to her Ability Stench. The Embrace Pokemon also took damage from poison.
“Skuntank!” Said Joe. “Use Venoshock!” Skuntank drenched Gardevoir with a poisonous liquid, leaving the Embrace Pokemon with 35% of his HP.
“Gardevoir!” Said Horace. “Use Recover!” Gardevoir regenerated his cells nd restored a good amount of HP, but also took damage from poison.
“Skuntank!” Said Joe. “Use Iron Tail!” Skuntank smacked Gardevoir with his strong and smelly tail, and the Embrace Pokemon fainted.
“Time to bring out the big guns!” Said Horace, returning Gardevoir to his Poke Ball. “Go, Grumpig!” Chusonese Grumpig was sent out.
“You deserve a rest, Skuntank!” Said Joe, returning the Skunk Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Shiftry!” Shiftry was sent out.
“Shiftry!” Said Joe. “Use Leaf Blade!” Shiftry lashed at Chusonse Grumpig with her sharp leaves, leaving the Mud Pig Pokemon with half her HP.
“Grumpig!” Said Horace. “Use Brick Break!” Chusonese Grumpig walked towards Shiftry and delivered a strong punch, leaving the Wicked Pokemon with a quarter of her HP.
“Shiftry!” Said Joe. “Use Payback!” Shiftry attacked Chusonese Grumpig with all her might, and the Mud Pig Pokemon fainted.
“You’re tougher than I thought.” Said Horace, returning Chusonse Grumpig to her Poke Ball. “Go, Psycoon!” Psycoon was sent out.
“That was excellent, Shiftry!” Said Joe, returning the Wicked Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Rapidash!” Galarian Rapidash was sent out, but Horace just laughed at Joe.
“Are you serious?!” He asked. “Even when Psycoon is immune to Psychic-Type attacks?”
“It’s my only Pokemon that can learn a good Bug-Type attack. Rapidash, use Megahorn!” Galarian Rapidash ran towards Psycoon and pierced him with his mighty horn, and the ESP Pokemon fainted.
“I still have two left!” Said Horace, returning Psycoon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Beheeyem!” Beheeyem was sent out.
“Great as usual, Rapidash!” Said Joe, returning the Unique Horn Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Skuntank!” Skuntank was sent out.
“Skuntank!” Said Joe. “Use Night Slash!” Skuntank lashed at Beheeyem with her strong claws, leaving the Cerebral Pokemon with half his HP.
“Beheeyem!” Said Horace. “Use Thunderbolt!” Beheeyem attacked Skuntank with a strong bolt of lightning, leaving the Skunk Pokemon with a quarter of her HP.
“Skuntank!” Said Joe. “Use Payback!” Skuntank attacked Beheeyem with all her might, and the Cerebral Pokemon fainted.
“This is my last chance!” Said Horace, returning Beheeyem to his Poke Ball. “Go, Starmie!” Starmie was sent out.
“You deserve a rest, Skuntank!” Said Joe, returning the Skunk Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Shiftry!” Shiftry was sent out.
“Starmie!” Said Horace. “Use Ice Beam!” Starmie fired an icy beam at Shiftry, leaving the Wicked Pokemon with a quarter of her HP.
“Shiftry!” Said Joe. “Use Giga Drain!” Shiftry drained Starmie of its HP, which not only dealt a substantial amount of damage to the Mysterious Pokemon, but also restored HP to the Wicked Pokemon.
“Starmie!” Said Horace. “Use Avalanche!” Starmie summoned an avalanche that managed to knock out Shiftry.
“You did your best, Shiftry!” Said Joe, returning the Wicked Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Rapidash!” Galarian Rapidash was sent out.
“Starmie!” Said Horace. “Use Flash Cannon!” Starmie emitted a powerful flash that dealt substantial damage to Galarian Rapidash.
“Rapidash!” Said Joe. “Use Wild Charge!” Galarian Rapidash shrouded himself in electricity and smashed into Starmie, which not only left the Mysterious Pokemon with a quarter of its HP, but also dealt recoil damage to the Unique Horn Pokemon.
“Starmie!” Said Horace. “Use Hydro Pump!” Starmie fired lots of water at Galarian Rapidash, but luckily, the attack missed.
“Rapidash!” Said Joe. “Finish it off with Psycho Cut!” Galarian Rapidash lashed at Starmie with his mighty horn, and the Mysterious Pokemon fainted.
“You’re the toughest Trainer I ever faced.” Said Horace, returning Starmie to its Poke Ball. “Go face the next Trainer.” Joe returned Galarian Rapidash to his Poke Ball, healed his Pokemon, and entered the room with the cog on the door.
