Joe's Adventure in Chuso Chapter 6

When Joe exited the Orange City Gym, he encountered a 15-year-old boy with blue eyes, orange hair, a blue shirt, and black pants.

“If it isn’t Joseph.” He said. “I’ve been watching your live videos on PokeTube, and boy, am I jealous. I challenge you to a no-holds-barred battle! Each with seven Pokemon!”

“How come?” Asked Joe.

“You know how the entrance to New Mt. Coronet has been blocked?” Asked the teen, who goes by the name of Alex.

“Uh, yes?” Joe asked.

“Well, when weird events like this happen,” Alex explained. “It’s usually because of an evil corporation. Saffron City being blocked by public officials? Team Rocket. Strange weather? Team Aqua and Magma. Power outage at Sunyshore City? Team Galactic. Something strange is happening, I tell you! I need to battle you to prove that you have enough strength to beat whoever will cause an upcoming catastrophe. But first, I’d like to ask you a question: Which starter did you pick from Professor Spruce?”

“Charmander.” Replied Joe. “Why do you ask?”

“Because just like my hero Blue,” Alex explained. “I like to pick the Pokemon that is stronger than yours. But first, I need my team assembled.”

“And I need to heal my Pokemon.” Said Joe. Both of them went to the city’s Pokemon Center to prepare for battle, and after a few minutes, they were both ready.

“I’m ready to fight.” Said Alex. “Go, Corviknight!” Corviknight was sent out.

“I choose you!” Said Joe. “Cinderace!” Cinderace was sent out.

“Cinderace!” Said Joe. “Use Blaze Kick!” Cinderace lit his foot on fire and rammed it into Corviknight, leaving the Raven Pokemon with half his HP.

“Corviknight!” Said Alex. “Use Drill Peck!” Corviknight flew into the air and took a nosedive right into Cinderace, leaving the Striker Pokemon with half his HP.

“Cinderace!” Said Joe. “Finish him off with Pyro Ball!” Cinderace grabbed a pebble, lit it on fire, and launched it at Corviknight, making him faint.

“I just didn’t think ahead!” Said Alex, returning the Raven Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Alakazam!” Alakazam was sent out.

“You deserve a rest, Cinderace!” Said Joe, returning the Striker Pokemon to his Poke Ball. "Go, Sableye!” Sableye was sent out.

“Alakazam!” Said Alex. “Use Dazzling Gleam!” Alakazam attacked Sableye by emitting a powerful flash, leaving the Darkness Pokemon with 70% of her HP.

“Sableye!” Said Joe. “Use Shadow Claw!” Sableye lashed at Alakazam with her sharp claws, leaving the Psi Pokemon with half his HP.

“Alakazam!” Said Alex. “Use Dazzling Gleam again!” Alakazam attacked Sableye again with a powerful flash, leaving the Darkness Pokemon with 40% of her HP.

“Sableye!” Said Joe. “Use Payback!” Sableye scratched Alakazam with all her might, and the Psi Pokemon fainted.

“This is just bad luck!” Said Alex, returning Alakazam to his Poke Ball. “Go, Rhyfist!” Rhyfist was sent out.

“You did a great job, Sableye!” Said Joe, returning the Darkness Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Mr. Rime!” Mr. Rime was sent out.

“Mr. Rime!” Said Joe. “Use Psychic!” Mr. Rime attacked Rhyfist with a strong telekinetic force, leaving the Strong Arm Pokemon with 60% of her HP and lowered her Special Defense stat by one stage.

“Rhyfist!” Said Alex. “Use Power-Up Punch!” Rhyfist slugged Mr. Rime with a strong fist, which not only dealt 50 Hit Points to the Comedian Pokemon, but also raised her Attack stat by one stage.

“Mr. Rime!” Said Joe. “Use Avalanche!” Mr. Rime summoned an avalanche to attack Rhyfist with, leaving the Strong Arm Pokemon with 10% of her HP.

“Rhyfist!” Said Alex. “Use Revenge!” Rhyfist slugged Mr. Rime with her mighty fist, leaving the Comedian Pokemon with half her HP.

“Mr. Rime!” Said Joe. “Use Ice Beam!” Mr. Rime fired an icy beam at Rhyfist, and the Strong Arm Pokemon fainted.

“You’re tougher than I thought.” Said Alex, returning Rhyfist to her Poke Ball. “Go, Umbreon!” Umbreon was sent out.

“You deserve a rest, Mr. Rime!” Said Joe, returning the Comedian Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Heracross!” Heracross was sent out.

“Heracross!” Said Joe. “Use Megahorn!” Heracross flew into Umbreon and jabbed at him with his proud horn, leaving the Moonlight Pokemon with half his HP.

“Umbreon!” Said Alex. “Use Swift!” Umbreon attacked Heracross with unavoidable stars, dealing about 30 Hit Points to the Single Horn Pokemon.

“Finish him off with Brick Break!” Joe told Heracross, and he delivered swift punches at Umbreon, and the Moonlight Pokemon fainted.

“I still have three more to go!” Said Alex, returning Umbreon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Ninetales!” Ninetales was sent out. Heracross then started digging a hole by using his horn as a shovel.

“Why is Heracross digging a hole?” Asked Alex.

“It’s for my next Pokemon!” Declared Joe, returning Heracross to his Poke Ball. “Go, Dragalge!” Dragalge was sent out.

“Ninetales!” Said Alex. “Use Psyshock!” Ninetales materialized an odd psychic wave to attack Dragalge with, leaving the Mock Kelp Pokemon with 80% of his HP.

“Dragalge!” Said Joe. “Use Hydro Pump!” Dragalge blasted a huge volume of water at Ninetales, leaving the Fox Pokemon with half her HP.

“Ninetales!” Said Alex. “Use Extrasensory!” Ninetales attacked Dragalge with a peculiar power, leaving the Mock Kelp Pokemon with half his HP.

“Dragalge!” Said Joe. “Use Surf!” Dragalge summoned a tidal wave that swept up Ninetales and made her faint.

“Can I say something before you send out your next Pokemon?” Joe asked Alex while Ninetales was being returned to her Poke Ball.

“Yes.” Answered Alex. “But make it quick.”

“After I beat Kathy back in Apricot City,” Joe explained. “I was encountered by a Shadow Triad. He rambled on about Ghetsis reuniting Team Plasma so he can turn Pokemon into, what were they called? Oh yeah! Animals. They’d be like Pokemon, but smaller with no powers.”

“Pokemon scaled down with no powers?!” Shouted Alex. “I need to find out where his hideout is, but first, we need to finish this battle. Go, Gogoat!” Gogoat was sent out.

“You deserve a rest, Dragalge!” Said Joe, returning the Mock Kelp Pokemon to his Poke Ball. “Go, Talonflame!” Talonflame was sent out.

“Talonflame!” Said Joe. “Use Acrobatics!” Talonflame nimbly attacked Gogoat with her strong talons, leaving the Mount Pokemon with a quarter of her HP.

“Gogoat!” Said Alex. “Use Rock Slide!” Gogoat attacked Talonflame with large boulders, leaving the Scorching Pokemon with half her HP.

“Talonflame!” Said Joe. “Use Flamethrower!” Talonflame breathed very hot flames at Gogoat, and the Mount Pokemon fainted.

“I still have one more chance!” Said Alex, returning Gogoat to her Poke Ball. “Go, Greninja!” Greninja was sent out.

“Great job as usual, Talonflame!” Said Joe, returning the Scorching Pokemon to her Poke Ball. “Go, Breloom!” Breloom was sent out.

“Greninja!” Said Alex. “Use Ice Beam!” Greninja fired an icy beam at Breloom, leaving the Mushroom Pokemon with half his HP.

“Breloom!” Said Joe. “Use Drain Punch!” Breloom hit Greninja with his tail, which not only left the Ninja Pokemon with half his HP, but also restored some HP to the Mushroom Pokemon.

“Greninja!” Said Alex. “Use Extrasensory!” Greninja materialized an odd psychic wave to attack Breloom with, leaving the Mushroom Pokemon with 30% of his HP.

“Breloom!” Said Joe. “Use Sky Uppercut!” Breloom attacked Greninja with an uppercut thrown skywards with great force, and the Ninja Pokemon fainted.

“You’re ready to fight Team Plasma.” Said Alex, returning Greninja to his Poke Ball. “I’ll get out Stoutland next time I go to the Pokemon Center. Stoutland has an excellent sense of smell, and she might be able to sniff out some Plasma Grunts!” Alex went back to the Pokemon Center so he could heal his Pokemon and retrieve Stoutland.

“Let’s see who’s next to fight.” Said Joe, pulling out Jennifer’s notes from the other day. “Next up is Ben in Kumquat City, and he specializes in Electric-Type Pokemon. Off to Kumquat City, then!” Joe went to the Pokemon Center to heal his Pokemon and go to the next city.
